Beware of Black Holes

I’m fooling around near a whopping black hole
With my orbiting ship under total control

The Event Horizon’s just two feet from here
And Schwarzschild predicts that we’ve nothing to fear

But they say for a dare, poke your toe down below
So let’s open a hatch, and l’ll give it a go

I lower my boot down three feet, it’s no sweat
The maths of black holes is just theory, I’ll bet

That nothing comes back once it goes down beyond
Oops, seems my boot’s stuck now. Oh no, I was conned!
