We offer work in an international atmosphere with up-to-date equipment in a renowned national university in Japan. Hokkaido University is located in Sapporo (population 1.7 million), the largest city on the northernmost island of the Japanese archipelago.
Financial support from our side is available in the first instance for a time to be agreed between the two parties. To reduce the load on our budget we encourage our postdoctoral researchers also to apply for one to two year fellowships from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). This is also possible through a representative academic society in the applicant's home country.* (See http://www.jsps.go.jp/english/index.html)
The Applied Solid State Physics Laboratory was founded in the Department of Applied Physics, Faculty of Engineering, Hokkaido University in May 1996.
